Debbie Reynolds was a star whose career endured for six decades. After being named Miss Burbank 1948, Reynolds was signed to a film contract with Warner Brothers, then MGM. She made Singin’ in the Rain in 195, and became a major film star. As her celebrity in films diminished, she branched out to television, Broadway, nightclubs and concerts. In between she had a fairy tale marriage, a scandalous divorce and received Academy Award, Tony and Emmy nominations. Her sense of humor guided her through her public life, which saw her go from America’s sweetheart to “Carrie Fisher’s mom.” Using pictures, film clips and interviews, we will remember the life and career of an entertainment icon. Presented by Marc Courtade.
